CLEARING the Cache File for AOL
- The cache is used to keep local copies of frequently accessed
documents on your PC and, thus, reduces time connected to the
network through your ISP. If you want to be assured that you are
viewing the most current version of a webpage, hit the "reload"
button which will compare the cache document to the website and
show the most current version of that page. It is suggested, that
you purge your cache file from time to time to assure you are getting
the most current version of a webpage, however.
- Purging your cache file varies dependent upon your browser. The
instructions on this page refer to Netscape, Netscape Communicator,
and Microsoft Internet Explorer. If these instructions do not apply
to your browser, contact your ISP for specific instructions.
