miles north of Kailua-Kona on the western side of the Big Island. A
full service airport accommodating inter-island, charter, and jumbo
international flights from the mainland and the Pacific Rim, daily.
This facility has been in a constant state of construction for some
time but little inconvenience has been experienced. Car rental
facilities on site.
- Hilo Airport (HLO)
- Is located in the city
of Hilo; remodeled in the late seventies to accomodate all the jumbo
jets. Today, with the growth of Kailua-Kona with major resort
locations, this airport is, mainly, used for inter-island flights.
Conveniently located north of Volcano National Park about 40 miles.
Many of the helitours of the island originate from this facility.
